Girls this is a must read. It features an article called 'aquacise your pelvic floor' - I attended this workshop last year in Sydney. If you havent got the time to read it, let me summarise:
we use quick fast movements instead to long bouncey movements as it is better for the pelvic floor
we use certain... deep water exercises at times to help support the internal organs, and this likewise protects the pelvic floor
we prefer to use a gymstick in water because 1) it is a great resistance tool ideal for strengthening the body, 2) we constantly and indirectly recruit the core 3) it is not a bouyant aide like dumbells (which I know we all enjoy) but they can result in high shoulders (bad for posture) and breath holding (strains the pelvic floor) 4) actually there's lots of reasons why the gymstick is the tool or choice for me!
So you see, there is method in the madness! Have a read, and enjoy your day!
