Hi, I'm Jo

Hi, I'm Jo.  I'm really passionate about health and lifestyle issues.  Living well, maintaining health, being balanced, feeling happy and enjoying your people are all issues close to my heart. 

I work in the fitness industry as a fitness professional and I specialise in water based fitness.  As much as I can I encourage exercise regimes to include water based exercise, whether that be to minimise impact, to rest and recover from injury, as a core component of a heart lung workout or simply because water based workouts are highly effective.  Life for me always improves when I stay close to pools, so I no longer fight it, I earn my living in and around pools.

Family is really important to me.  I'm a mother of 3 beautiful children who are full of life and fun.  I'm happily married and our key focus in the family is balance.  Balance between work and hobbies, family time and individual time, computer time and outside time.  We dont always get it right.

Garden is a major passion for me.  I'm currently improving our suburban block to a vegetable and fruit garden.  I'm a member of the permaculture association, so using what arrives on our patch is a key focus.  We try not to use green recycling, instead preferring to compost - I've got several heaps on the go at any one time.  Permaculture is not so much about self sufficiency, as making the best out of the patch and resources you have.  Chooks have been a major bonus - we no longer bring as much manure to our patch.  Water we catch from various places.  Bamboo stakes are the result of growing bamboo a few years back - and it just doesnt break down.
